11th January 2011 Download the SchoolBase® registration application on to your iPhone
Furlong® is delighted to announce the arrival of its first iPhone Application. SchoolBase Online users can now download the registration module and access it from the convenience of their iPhone. Users can register by Form Group, Tag Group, Teaching Group and Tutor Group. Each user logs on using their unique SchoolBase Online domain username and password. Registers can be marked as quickly and easily on a fieldtrip as they can in the classroom.
Managing Director of Furlong Howard Langley is proud of the latest developments. “The release of our first iPhone App is a very exciting step for us. Smart Phones are becoming more and more popular and Furlong is developing software which will work with them. We have been rigorously testing the App over the last few months and are now satisfied that it is ready to be released to our clients. It will give staff the flexibility to complete the register wherever they are, from the classroom to the canteen, to a field trip in the countryside.”
Furlong strives to be at the forefront of new technology for schools. This is one of many new developments within the system which caters for all aspects of school life, from report writing to fee-billing, admissions to alumni, examination entries to rewards and sanctions.

Furlong goes from strength to strength
2010 was a phenomenal year for Furlong. The company that provides tailored software for independent schools has expanded considerably in the UK and overseas during the last 12 months. This success meant that their office at East Anton Court in Andover was no longer large enough to accommodate them. Furlong moved during the Christmas period and re-opened at Eagle House in West Portway on the 4th January.
Managing Director Howard Langley is delighted with the new premises. “The new office is everything we had hoped for. We have much more space for our business to continue to grow. At the heart of our business is customer support. As more and more schools have chosen to use Furlong products it has become necessary to invest more in the support and development of our products. We now have the facilities to do this. In our new office we have an onsite training room for our termly training courses along with much more space to continue the growth of our team”.
2010 has been an exciting year for Furlong and we are confident that 2011 will be even better. 28th April 2010 The British Schools Group choose SchoolBase® Furlong is proud to announce that The British Schools Group has chosen to use SchoolBase® in its member schools. The Group aims to promote the highest standard of British-style education worldwide. Currently there are four schools in the group including The British School of Guangzhou, The British School of Nanjing, The International School of Moscow and The British School of Kuala Lumpur. A further three schools are scheduled to open in September in Spain and Uzbekistan. Richard Anderton is the Development Director for The British Schools Group. He said:

Furlong® was one of the 100 small to medium size businesses which were selected to win free business travel for a year from British Airways. The company provides software to independent schools and has a very well established market in the UK. In the last 12 months it has experienced growing demand for its products overseas. As a result of winning the BA prize Furlong® has secured contracts with 10 new schools and there are a further 10 opportunities which are looking extremely promising. One of the schools which has benefited from our BA business travel is the English School in Kyrenia in Cyprus. Furlong expands to Australia
Furlong is delighted to announce that it has appointed TeePee Educational Consultants as the sole authorised reseller of SchoolBase® in Australia. Furlong was started by Managing Director Howard Langley in 2003. Since then the company has grown from strength to strength. Furlong software is now used in over 160 independent schools from the UK, to South America, and across mainland Europe.
